N. J. Lindquist is an award-winning author who spent a large proportion of her formative years reading mysteries, following sports, and studying psychology. Her varied interests converge in the Manziuk and Ryan mystery series, which combines the best aspects of the classic whodunit with up-to-date themes and characters who live in your heart. Lindquist has been compared to Agatha Christie and other authors of the Golden age.
Lindquist’s police detectives are Paul Manziuk, a forty-something middle-aged father of three who joined the police force out of high school, and twenty-eight year-old Jacqueline Ryan, a Jamaican born Canadian woman with an MA in criminology and an attitude.
In Lindquist’s first mystery, Shaded Light, an already uneasy weekend house party on a Toronto lawyer's estate turns deadly when a guest finds a body in the Japanese garden. In Glitter of Diamonds, after a sports radio talk-show host advocates knocking sense into the home team's new pitcher, Manziuk and Ryan have to hustle to catch a murderer swinging a lethal bat.
The mother of four adults sons, Lindquist has also written five novels and three non-fiction books for teens (especially boys) and one Christmas play.
Most recently, she edited Hot Apple Cider: Words to Stir the Heart and Warm the Soul, an inspirational anthology consisting of work by 30 Canadian authors.
No, not this year. I have a new book out and local promotion will be consuming my time. Next year, though, I plan to go, which I think will be in Ottawa??
Hi Nancy, it's great to meet up with you again after all these years. We actually met at Bloody Words in 2000, my one and only time at the conference. I'm happy to see you're still publishing books. One of these days, I'll get back to Bloody Words.
Hi Nancy
Thanks for this lead. I haven't had time to spend on the site yet, but it looks very interesting. Take care of yourself during this busy time.
