I don't think that there is any connection between the Deptford Trilogy and Samuel Marchbanks, apart from Davies being the author of both.
I've only read Robertson Davies' Deptford Trilogy, but loved them. I'll have to look up Samuel Marchbanks.

Concrete Botox?
Just read in the Ottawa Citizen this morning that Minister John Baird announced $2 million dollars for a "Spruce-up" of the Rideau Canal walls so that it would remain attractive for tourists. Concrete botox?
