This is so funny! I also began playing guitar at 13, but learned from a British fellow who became a love in my life years later...We even had a band, called Boothill Express! I quit to go into nursing at 17, but I still play and sing, although I n...
A nurse for 36 years; 25 of them in independent practise working with a form of therapy I pioneered, it involves the integration and analysis of unconscious content in spontaneous drawings, Jungian and Senoi Indian dream work, NLP and resonance in music therapy, to aid people in healing unresolved grief issues. I especially enjoy working with dying children and the elderly.
I write poetry and prose, and published my first non fiction book last year. I have a few manuscripts on the go about my work, and also just completed one about our adopted son's struggle with FASD and addiction.Wanting to also write something a bit lighter, I recently began a historic compilation about my rich, humorous and interesting nursing career!'
I've been married for 30 years, and have two living children; I am also a bereaved parent. Working through the griefwork, I found writing both prose and poetry to be profoundly helpful in the healing process.
At this stage in my career, I hope to focus on bringing greater support and education for medical/nursing caregivers, specifically but not limited to those who care for the dying, so that the issues around the value of dying with dignity( and the importance of spiritual awakening) is addressed more precisely and compassionately in the educational institutions of our health care professionals.
I enjoy nature, camping,music(play12 string guitar),singing (sing in 2 choirs) sculpting, handiwork, reading, writing, cooking and animals.

Hi Corry. thanks for your friendship. I'm on Facebook too & my website is: www.abookofinsight.com. Our story is rather unique. My sister & I channelled a book through a Ouija book. It is a beautiful, spiritual book.
Corry, I just read some of your poems on your blog. Very creative and genuinely impressive. I want to repeat what I've said about one of your poems:
"... quite touching piece of poetry knitting the deepest feelings through a tender flow of expression. I can see how a genuine poet moulds the grey of the evening into the 'smiling shimmer of sun'. Wonderful!"
