Alison Bruce started writing stories at age twelve and hasn’t stopped since. Copywriter and editor since 1992, her freelance career was interrupted while she helped family members through terminal illnesses and raised her two children on her own. When her sister was dying of cancer, she realized that life is too short not to follow your dreams.
While continuing to write, edit and design freelance, Alison Bruce writes crime and other genre fiction. Her protagonists are marked by their strength of character, the ability to adapt (sooner or later) to new situations and to learn from adversity – traits the author shares, and hopes to pass on to her own children.
Alison also serves on several boards, including Crime Writers Canada and Action Read Adult Literacy Centre, and is a member of Writers and Editors Network.
